Week of 3/15/15- Healthy Dinners Meal Plan #RecipeRoundup


    

It's funny how after you've started to eat healthier, your tastes change, and you actually prefer to eat healthier food.  It might take a bit to get to get to this dietary sweet spot, but once you do... that's when all the magic happens.

So, these last few weeks have been busier than normal.  I've been working on re-branding my blog, and have also rejoined Sunday Supper after over a year off... which has been a blast!  My husband has been crazy busy at work and getting home later each day than either of us would like.  And, we're preparing to get a new puppy.  Which as you know is super exciting, but will also require a lot of time, work, and potty training patience.

And along with busyness, comes food cravings.  And for me, it's homey, creamy, cheesy dishes.  But both you and I know that these cravings are just a temporary fix, and I usually feel worse after I've eaten these types of foods, than I did before.  Especially now that I'm in the sweet spot of healthy eating.

And, if you haven't heard, I've been posting a weekly dinners menu each Saturday.  For me, for you, for our families... so we can eat healthier together.  I've tried to reduce the amount of dishes with cheese to a few a week.  Offer a healthy balance of good carbs, proteins... and some vegetarian/vegan meals.  And, I've focused on dishes that taste homey, like Paella, Sloppy Joe's, and Spaghetti Squash Casserole, but without all the extra fat, sodium and other added ingredients that you'd get from restaurants or prepackaged food.  Just natural, fresh and simple ingredients that will keep you full, satisfy your cravings, and keep your energy levels up to handle any of life's stresses.
